PlainCompliance ("we," "us," "PlainCompliance") operates plaincompliance.ca (the "Site"). This page explains what information the Site collects, how it's used, and what happens to it. If anything here is unclear, contact us at the address at the bottom of this page.
The policy generator runs entirely in your browser
When you use the policy generator, the details you enter — company name, policy owner, review cadence, effective date, and any logo you upload — are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. This information is never transmitted to, or stored on, any PlainCompliance server. The document you download is assembled and saved directly from your browser to your device. We don't have a backend database, and we don't see, store, or have access to the content you enter into the generator.
Cookies and analytics
The Site uses Google Analytics and Google AdSense, which set cookies to measure usage and personalize ads. You can manage or opt out of personalized ads through Google's Ad Settings, or block cookies through your browser settings — doing so may affect analytics accuracy but won't affect the policy generator, since it doesn't depend on cookies. Neither service receives the company or document details you enter into the generator; that data never leaves your browser.
What we don't do
- We don't sell personal information.
- We don't store the company, policy, or document details you enter into the generator.
- We don't require an account, email address, or sign-up to generate a document.
Your rights
Depending on where you're located, you may have rights under laws like the GDPR or provincial/state privacy legislation regarding the limited data described above (for example, access, correction, or deletion of analytics data associated with your visit, to the extent it's identifiable). Since we don't collect or store the content you enter into the generator in the first place, most such requests will relate only to analytics or advertising cookies, which you can manage directly through your browser and Google's Ad Settings.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
